Full-time salaried Electrical/Electronic Engineer/Technician

Overview
Manages, plans, implements and coordinates design, testing and manufacturing of electrical and electronic systems, sub-systems, products, PCB boards and box-build assemblies. This position is a hands-on position and applicant must be willing to participate in all aspects of design, manufacturing, building and repair of electrical and electronic systems and products.

Functions
Primary responsibilities include those listed below:

  • Reviews design for existing and new products with a focus on manufacturing
  • Establishes key parameters for design prototype build and testing
  • Builds and tests prototypes and verifies key success metrics
  • Establishes manufacturing procedures and processes for a successful handover to contract manufacturing
  • Develops and tests alternatives for components and assemblies based on availability and pricing
  • Develops detailed Bill of Materials for each assembly, sub-assembly and product including part numbering, vendor information
  • Develops and maintains an inventory management system
  • Manages key research and development projects
  • Manages customer order processing and fulfillment in coordination with contract manufacturer
  • Designs and builds test fixtures and wire harnesses
  • Builds and repairs electrical and electronic systems, sub-systems and products
  • Conducts some level of mechanical and pneumatic system design and build

Desired Qualifications
Ideal candidate would have a 4 Year Engineering degree with 3 years of industry experience or a 3 Year Technical Degree with 5 years of Industry experience.

The following experience is required:

  • Familiar with use of DMMs, oscilloscopes and measurement equipment
  • Familiar with Lab test instrumentation
  • Familiar with use of hand tools including power tools
  • Experienced in component searches and down-select process
  • Field service experience in installation, repair and servicing of electrical and electronic systems and products
  • Some experience with Mechanical and Pneumatic equipment and systems
  • Autocad skills are a plus
  • Labview skills are a plus

Travel: Must be willing to travel overnight on projects

Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
